Terms of use
By reading or practising from Backbeat Lab you accept the terms below. They are short because the site does very little: it publishes practice material and serves it as static pages.
Last updated: 2026-09-18
Practice carries physical risk
Playing drums involves repetitive strain, sudden volume and, for some players, existing joint or hearing conditions. The material here describes how a pattern is played; it is not medical advice and it is not a diagnosis. Stop when something hurts, protect your hearing, and take advice from a qualified professional about any pain that persists.
Tempo windows and practice durations on this site are described for a healthy adult with a properly set up kit. They are starting points, not prescriptions.
Content and figures
Text and generated figures on this site are protected by copyright. You may quote a short passage with a link, and you may reuse a figure in teaching material with a credit and a link back to the drill it came from. Republishing a whole drill, or a set of figures, needs written permission from the address on the contact page.
The material is provided as it is, without warranty that a given pattern will work on a given kit, at a given tempo, for a given player.
Advertising and external links
Advertising may be served on these pages by third parties. The site does not endorse advertised products and has no control over which ads appear. See the privacy page for how advertising cookies are used and how to opt out.
External links are provided because they are useful, not because they are paid for. The site is not responsible for the content of another site.
Changes
These terms may change as the site changes. The date below records the last revision; continued use after a revision means the revised terms apply.
